Quiero descubrir ese río de amor y ese río de fe y ese río de esperanza, quiero descubrir ese río de transformación al que puedes ir y puedes ser transformado si trabajas para ello. Quiero descubrir ese río de resurrección donde todos tienen una segunda oportunidad. Quiero descubrir ese río de santificación donde todas las gracias de la vida y las bendiciones te caen encima como la lluvia, si lo intentas. Y quiero descubrir esta noche ese río de curación sexual y camaradería, trabajémoslo. Quiero descubrir ese río de alegría y felicidad, allí es donde quiero ir esta noche y quiero que vengáis conmigo porque necesito ir con vosotros y por eso estamos aquí, noche tras noche tras noche, porque no lo logras accidentalmente, necesitas ir en su búsqueda y no lo puedes lograr por ti mismo, no importa lo mucho que lo intentes, por eso esta noche vamos a lanzar un bautismo de rock & roll, un exorcismo de rock & roll y un bar mitzvah de rock & roll, eso es, lo haremos todo esta noche. Quiero sentir esas aguas sobre mí y que me hagan libre de nuevo. Pero una vez estuve de joven ante un oscuro bosque una noche y como un niño pequeño tenía miedo de atravesar esos árboles aunque sabía que en la otra parte el río de la vida estaba esperando y que había cerveza fresca a precio razonable y no había malditos móviles tampoco, y pizza para todo el mundo, pero seguía paralizado y entonces una gitana me hizo pasar y me preguntó cuál era mi destino y le dije lo que hacía y me dijo: “Hijo, lo que necesitas es ayuda, lo que necesitas es una banda para atravesar esos árboles…y es por eso que estoy orgulloso de presentaros esta noche sobre el escenario....” (01-07-2000, New York City)
